Ghanaian actress and fashion icon, Nana Akua Addo has suggested that event organisers in Ghana should consider selecting individuals to make appearance on red carpets in Ghana.
The fashionista believes that it’s time event orgnaziers also pay appearance fees for selected individuals chosen for red carpets.
Nana Akua Addo made the proposal during an interview on 3Lounge, Friday, May 16, 2025.
“I feel like our space, that is coming on to the red carpet, it has come of age where event organizers need to think about selecting certain people that they want them to come on the red carpet and also paying attention to the appearance fee.
“Because whatever we do, AJ you and I know how much we pay for all these vendors,” she stated.
Her comment follows the recent Telecel Ghana Music Awards organised on May 10, 2025 and the Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards where celebrities showed up to display series of styles and designs.
Nana Akua Addo also dismissed speculations about her looking down on Telecel Ghana Music Awards and not appearing on red carpet of the event in recent times.
She clarified that there’s no way she could turn down an invite from Charterhouse, organizers of the TGMA.
She emphasised that she has good relations with Charterhouse as the event organizers provided her her first platform to fame.
“I would like to use this medium to correct whatever is being said out there. Charterhouse gave me the first platform to fame and they grow me to be the woman I am. I can never take that for granted. So, there’s no day that Charterhouse will invite me and I will feel I am bigger, never.
“Coming to a Charterhouse event will be like coming back home. You know like a prodigal daughter coming back home. For me, that’s how it feels, the relationship I have with Charterhouse is personal,” she explained.
