The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has revealed plans for both emergency and scheduled maintenance activities on Thursday, May 15, 2025, affecting parts of the Greater Accra and Ashanti Regions.
These maintenance operations are essential for enhancing service delivery and ensuring a more reliable power supply in the affected areas.
In Greater Accra, emergency maintenance will take place from 9 am to 4 pm, impacting locations such as Tseaddo, Marie Court Estate, Avenue Junction, New England, and surrounding areas. ECG has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to residents and businesses during this period.
In the Ashanti Region, three separate planned maintenance works are set to take place. The first operation, scheduled from 9 am to 6 pm, will disrupt power supply in several towns, including Adankwame, Achiase, Kronum Cement, Nketiah, Asuofua, Offinso, Kokote, Abira, Tetrem, Barekese, and other surrounding villages.
A second group of communities, including Fawoade, Mamponteng, Ntonso, Asenemaso, Aboaso, Hemang, and several others, will experience power outages between 9 am and 5 pm on the same day.
The third planned maintenance operation will also cause power interruptions from 9 am to 5 pm in areas such as Piase, Deduako, Mim, New Brodakwaw, Beposo, Nyameani, and surrounding locations.
ECG has reassured the public that these maintenance efforts are crucial to enhancing the reliability of the electricity supply. The company has apologised for any inconvenience these outages may cause and urges affected residents to take necessary precautions and prepare for the temporary disruptions.
