â??A really nice goalâ? â?? Mohammed Fuseini reacts to dramatic first Derby strike

Mohammed Fuseini was delighted to score his first goal for Derby County after his dramatic stoppage-time equaliser earned the Rams a 1-1 draw against Burnley at Turf Moor.

The Ghanaian winger came off the bench and produced a composed finish late in the game to rescue a point for Derby after Zeki Amdouni had given Burnley the lead in the first half.

Fuseini, who joined Derby on loan from Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise on transfer deadline day, was pleased with the quality of his finish and the impact it had on the game.

“It was a really nice goal. A good strike from me,” Fuseini told Derby County’s official media after the match.

The 24-year-old revealed that he initially came on as a No. 10 before moving to the wing, with manager John Eustace instructing him to make runs and express himself.

“First, I came on as a number 10 to run in behind a lot, but I didn’t stay there for too long as I moved to the wings. The coach told me to make runs and play my football, which I did and got the goal,” he said.

Fuseini’s equaliser arrived after Derby had struggled to find a way through Burnley’s defence for much of the game, with the Ghanaian making the most of his opportunity when it came.

He also praised the Derby supporters for their backing throughout the contest and believes their support helped the team push for an equaliser.

“Fans are really supportive. They stayed with us throughout the game, and you can see the happiness when we got the goal.”

The result leaves Derby with a point from a difficult away fixture, and Fuseini believes the team can use the international break to regroup and return stronger.

“It’s a positive result; it's time for us to settle down and work together, and hopefully we come back from the international break strong.”
