Italian-Ghanaian striker Godberg Cooper has joined Birzebbuga St. Peter’s FC, adding extensive international experience to the Maltese club’s attacking options.
The Saints confirmed the arrival of the forward, who now begins a new chapter after his most recent spell with ASU Politehnica Timisoara in Romania.
Cooper developed in Atalanta’s youth system before starting his senior career with Aurora Seriate in 2014. His early development also included loan periods at USD Scanzorosciate and ASD Verdello, followed by a move abroad to Portuguese side Condeixa in 2017.
The striker later represented Arouca, Espinho and Vianense in Portugal before moving to Switzerland with Schaffhausen. His journey subsequently took him to Kukesi in Albania, Lavello in Italy and Makedonija G.P. in North Macedonia.
Further spells with Chindia Targoviste and UTA Arad in Romania, Kazakhstan’s Tobol, and Al-Hamriyah in the United Arab Emirates underline the breadth of Cooper’s experience. He spent the 2025-26 campaign at ASU Politehnica Timișoara before making the move to Malta.
Birzebbuga believe Cooper’s well-travelled career, attacking instincts and familiarity with different football cultures can strengthen their forward line. The club has welcomed him as a new addition ready to make an impact in its colours.
