Oppong, who was born in Accra, had been with Nice since July 2025. He arrived at the French club from Swedish side Norrkoping in a deal worth €2.68m, having previously spent time on loan with GIF Sundsvall.
The right-footed defender stands 1.85m tall and plays primarily as a centre-back. His move to Fenerbahce represents the latest step in a career that began with De Visser Academy before he moved to Norrkoping in February 2023.
Oppong’s route to senior football included two loan spells at GIF Sundsvall. He joined the club from Norrkoping in August 2023 and returned for a second loan in February 2024, before ending that spell later the same year.
He made two appearances at the 2026 World Cup, recording 13% of the available minutes and receiving one yellow card. He did not score or provide an assist during the tournament.
Before switching to Turkey, Oppong had been part of Nice’s Ligue 1 squad. He now joins Fenerbahce with a listed market value of €10m, although no transfer fee has been disclosed for the move.
The transfer from Nice to Fenerbahce was completed on 28 August 2026.
