Black Princesses head coach Charles Sampson says Ghana’s friendly against Mexico will provide an important test as the team continues preparations for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.
Ghana will face Mexico behind closed doors on Friday at the Stadion Miejskiego Klubu Sportowego Gornik Walbrzych, with kick-off scheduled for 12:00 GMT.
The Black Princesses defeated Sleza Wroclaw 4-0 in their opening friendly in Wroclaw, Poland, but Sampson believes the Mexico encounter will offer a clearer indication of the team’s readiness.
"We are left with one more player that we hope can also join us very soon. So with this number it looks good to go and face Mexico tomorrow. So we are looking forward for the game," he told GFA Communications.
"I'm looking forward to see how we react after the game we played the last time which was only just to warm up and take out anxiety and things like that. So this is the test that we are looking for to really see where we are because Mexico almost play the same style like Ecuador."
Ghana are making their eighth consecutive appearance at the tournament and will be determined to progress beyond the group stage for the first time.
