Ghanaian defender Oscar Naasei has completed a dream move to Spanish giants Real Madrid in the current summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old centre-back is joining Real Madrid from Granada following a successful medical test. Despite interest from several Spanish clubs, the Los Blancos has won the race to secure the signature of the talented defender.
Naasei’s move represents a major step in his young career and another significant development for Ghanaian football, with the defender now set to continue his development within one of the world’s most prestigious football academies (Castilla).
Real Madrid’s decision to secure his services highlights the club’s belief in the potential of the Ghanaian youngster, who attracted considerable interest in Spain following his performances for Granada.
The move to Castilla will provide Naasei with an opportunity to train and compete within Real Madrid’s highly regarded development structure, while also bringing him closer to the first-team setup. Naasei becomes the latest Ghanaian youngster to earn a move to one of European football’s biggest clubs.
Naasei will now look to establish himself at Castilla and continue his progression with the Spanish giants, with hopes of eventually breaking into Real Madrid’s senior team.
He has made two appearances for Granada in Spain's Segunda División this season after continuing his rise since joining the club in 2023.
Born in Accra, the defender has progressed steadily through Granada's ranks and established himself as a promising option in the first-team setup.
His recent development also earned him international recognition, with Naasei included in Ghana's squad for the friendly against Mexico on 22 May before making his senior Black Stars debut ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
