Black Stars assistant coach Roger De Sá says Ghana’s newly assembled technical team is determined to deliver results that will restore national pride ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The technical setup, headed by veteran coach Carlos Queiroz, was confirmed weeks after the dismissal of Otto Addo in March following consecutive defeats to Austria and Germany in international friendlies.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England and Croatia for the tournament set to be staged across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Speaking on the Beyond The Whistle podcast, De Sá stressed that the focus is on hard work and unity within the camp as preparations intensify.
“We are here to do our best and make Ghanaians happy. If Carlos does his job, there is none better than him," the South African said.
“We will pick our targets as they come. If our players play to their abilities, we have a realistic chance to progress," he added.
The Black Stars will step up their preparations with friendly matches against Mexico on May 22 and Wales on June 2.
Ghana begin their World Cup campaign against Panama at BMO Field in Toronto on June 17, before facing England at the Boston Stadium on June 23.
They will complete their Group L fixtures against Croatia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on June 27.
Having exited at the group stage in both the 2014 and 2022 editions, the Black Stars will be hoping to turn the page and mount a stronger challenge in 2026.
