Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi has vowed to return "stronger and better" after undergoing successful surgery that will rule him out for the remainder of the season.
The 25-year-old, who is of Ghanaian descent and has represented England at senior level, sustained the injury during Forest's 1-0 Europa League win over FC Porto last week. He was forced off in the 73rd minute, and further assessment confirmed the severity of the setback.
In a heartfelt post on social media, Hudson-Odoi expressed his disappointment while looking ahead with faith and determination.
"Surgery was successful but definitely not the way I wanted to end the season," he wrote. "But with God's timing and plan, hopefully I'll be back stronger and better than before. Thank you for your continued support always and the messages. I appreciate all the love. Let's get the recovery started so I can get back out there doing what I love!! "No Pain, No Gain."
Nottingham Forest confirmed that the winger will miss the final five matches of the campaign, with a targeted return to full training during pre-season. "Everyone at the club wishes him a speedy recovery," the club stated.
The timing of the injury is a significant blow for Forest, who have relied on Hudson-Odoi's creativity and direct attacking threat during a crucial stage of the season. His absence will test the squad's depth as they push for a strong finish.
On the other hand, reports suggested the winger was in contention to make the Back Stars squad for the 2026 World Cup following a possible nationality switch
For Hudson-Odoi, the focus now shifts entirely to rehabilitation. With his trademark resilience and the support of fans behind him, the former Chelsea winger is already looking ahead to a triumphant return.
