Asante Kotoko interim coach Prince Yaw Owusu has vowed that his side will not surrender their title ambitions despite a damaging defeat to Samartex.
Speaking after the match, Owusu admitted the result was a major setback but insisted the campaign is far from over.
"We will try and fight back," he said.
The coach had earlier revealed that the signs of defeat were evident even before kickoff, with preparations going awry from the previous day. However, he stopped short of declaring the title race lost.
"It looks like it, but I'm not sure. We will try and fight back."
Kotoko have struggled for consistency this season, and the loss to Samartex has left them facing an uphill battle to close the gap on league leaders. But Owusu's message was clear: the team will not throw in the towel.
The Porcupine Warriors will now be under pressure to respond strongly in their upcoming fixtures as they attempt to keep their fading title hopes alive. For Owusu and his players, the fight continues.
