Semper Fi recorded their first home league win of the season with an impressive 2â0 victory over Golden Warriors at the McDan Sports Complex in Teshie on Saturday.
The result marked back-to-back triumphs for the side, following their win over New Town FC in the preliminary round of the MTN FA Cup. They carried that momentum into the Access Bank Division One League, earning only their second league win of the campaign in convincing fashion.
Semper Fi dominated proceedings from start to finish, dictating the tempo and creating several scoring opportunities. Their pressure paid off in the 37th minute when Samuel Adonteng Owusu broke the deadlock with a powerful close-range finish after a series of blocked attempts inside the Warriors’ box.
Three minutes after the break, Semper Fi doubled their advantage with another well-worked goal that effectively sealed the victory. The home side maintained control for the rest of the game, displaying composure and tactical discipline to keep their visitors at bay.
The win temporarily lifts Semper Fi to fourth on the table, though several teams below them are yet to play. They will now turn their attention to a crucial clash against Great Olympics in their next fixture.
