Black Queens coach Kim Lars Bjorkegren has refuted talks of possibly leaving his role ahead of the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
This comes after the Swedish gaffer led the team to qualify for the tournament, which will be held in Morocco next year.
Ghana recorded a 7-0 aggregate scoreline to book a place in the tournament.
However, reports have emerged suggesting that Bjorkegren could leave his role for a more lucrative job based on his exploits at the tournament.
“No, I will not [leave]. To be completely honest, I had another 14 offers at the time I signed for Ghana. I wanted to be here in Ghana, and I think I can help the girls," Bjorkegren said after the game.
“Together, I think we are on the way to something really, really good, so I’m here to stay with the girls," he added.
The 2026 Women’s AFCON will serve as qualifiers to the 2027 Women’s World Cup, with the semifinalists automatically qualifying for the Mundial.
