Ghanaian forward Prince Kwabena Adu has enjoyed a remarkable week for Viktoria Plzen, scoring in both the UEFA Europa League and the Czech First League.
Last Thursday, Adu powered Viktoria Plzen into the lead against Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, showcasing his strength and pace to outmanoeuvre defenders and find the back of the net. He was a constant threat throughout the match, giving Roma’s defence no respite until he was substituted in the 81st minute.
On Sunday, the former Bechem United player continued his fine form, heading home a beautiful goal to put Plzen ahead in a 2-0 victory over Banik on matchday 13 of the Czech First League, marking his fifth goal of the season.
Speaking in an interview, Adu reflected on the importance of the coach’s trust in him over the past three games:
"We trust each other, and we work very hard for him because he is here to help us achieve our objectives. It’s very good for me, as I feel I’m getting back to my best form."
