The head coach of the Black Queens, Kim Lars Bjorkegren, is confident that Ghana will qualify for the 2026 CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
Speaking after leading Ghana to secure a 3-0 victory over Egypt in the first leg of their second round tie, the coach shared his delight, indicating that the result has put his team in a good position to qualify for the next WAFCON.
“You can see that we haven’t been together for a while. It doesn’t connect like it did a couple of months ago. But the energy was there. I believe that we did a lot of good things, and in the end, we did well.
“In the end, a difficult away game we won 3-0. The result is amazing. It’s put us in a good position to make sure that we make the next AFCON,” he said in his post-match.
Since the win against Egypt last Thursday, the Black Queens have returned to Ghana to prepare for the reverse fixture scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at Accra Sports Stadium.
