Ghana midfielder Caleb Yirenkyi has expressed his delight after extending his stay with Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjælland until the summer of 2030, but says he is keeping his focus on the present rather than looking too far ahead.
The 19-year-old signed the new deal on Thursday, extending his contract by six months beyond its previous 2029 expiry.
The extension comes as a reward for his outstanding performances and steady growth over the past year, having made 29 Superliga appearances since breaking into the first team.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Yirenkyi shared his excitement about the new deal while emphasizing his desire to continue working hard for the team.
“I’m happy about the extension, and now I just want to continue to drive and do as well as I possibly can for FC Nordsjælland,” he said.
“Over the past year, I have learned an incredible amount, and the coaches and my teammates always make sure I’m still learning something new every single day. I’m not a person who looks that far ahead - I’m taking it day by day.”
Yirenkyi, who has six international caps for Ghana, has quickly become one of the club’s most trusted young midfielders.
His development continues to highlight Nordsjaelland’s strong connection with Ghana through the Right to Dream Academy.
