Victor Osimhen’s brace led Galatasaray to a 3-1 UEFA Champions League victory over Bodo/Glimt at RamsPark, marking the Turkish side’s second consecutive European win after a long period of struggle in the competition.
The home crowd erupted early as Osimhen opened the scoring in the third minute, finishing neatly after Mario Lemina threaded a pass through the defence.
Bodo/Glimt struggled to cope with the striker’s pace and movement, with Osimhen narrowly missing two headers from Leroy Sane's crosses. The Nigerian striker doubled his tally in the 33rd minute, capitalising on a loose backpass from Fredrik André Bjorkan, rounding goalkeeper Nikita Haikin and slotting the ball into an empty net.
Osimhen continued to trouble the visitors after the break, pressing relentlessly and forcing errors that allowed Yunus Akgun to add a third for Galatasaray. Bod/Glimt finally reduced the deficit through Andreas Helmersen’s header in the 76th minute, but Osimhen’s influence ensured there was never any real threat to the home side.
The victory highlighted Osimhen’s growing impact in Europe, as he spearheaded Galatasaray’s attack and helped the team respond emphatically to their opening-day defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt. His clinical finishing and constant threat leave Galatasaray well-positioned in the group, while the Nigerian forward continues to prove himself as one of the competition’s most dangerous forwards.
