Before that, the Tarkwa-based outfit had beaten struggling Dreams FC 2-1 at home to surpass former league leaders Heart of Lions on points.
Although Medeama could not win the game against FC Samartex, picking up that crucial point meant the team stayed at the top of the league standings with 13 points.
Aduana FC, who have won their last two matches, picking six points, trail Medeama SC by just a point.
The team from Dormaa is tied on points, [12] with Hearts of Oak. The Phobians beat Berekum Chelsea 2-0 on Sunday to climb to third in the league table, going above Heart of Lions, who are now fourth.
Defending champions Bibiani Gold Stars have moved to seventh after beating Heart of Lions 3-1 to end their two-game losing streak.
Dreams FC are also out of the relegation zone after overcoming Nations FC with a 2-0 win to record their first triumph of the league season.
The relegation zone is now made up of Berekum Chelsea, Eleven Wonders, and Holy Stars.
As the league campaign shapes up, all participating clubs are expected to fight for wins during Week 7.
