Medeama SC coach Ibrahim Tanko has downplayed their chances of winning the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League title despite their impressive start.
After six matches played, the Yellow and Mavue side currently sit at the top of the league log with 13 points, recording four wins, a draw and a defeat.
Speaking to the club's media, Tanko said, while Medeama’s current position at the top of the table was encouraging, it was too early to talk about winning the league, since the season was still in its early stages and there were many more games to play.
“The league is still young, and we are taking it one match at a time. It’s too early to talk about the title, but our focus is on maintaining consistency and improving game after game,” he said.
Tanko also praised the level of preparation and determination displayed by all participating clubs had made the league unpredictable, as every team now poses a serious challenge both at home and away.
“Generally, the Premier League is very tough, especially this season. All the teams have prepared very well, so it’s not always the case that you have to dominate to win matches."
Medeama will now focus on their upcoming game against Swedru All Blacks in the Matchday 7 games at the TNA Park on Sunday.
