Black Queens captain Portia Boakye has been shortlisted for the 2025 Women's Player of the Year ahead of the CAF awards.
The veteran defender made the ten-woman nomination following her impressive performance for the national team at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Boakye led Ghana to bronze medal after securing a return to the major competition for the first time in seven years.
The 36-year-old showed remarkable leadership at the tournament and made the Team of the Competition with her majestic displays.
Meanwhile, Boakye will face competition from Malawi duo Tabitha Chawinga and Temwa Chawinga, Morocco's pair of Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy, and Nigeria's Esther Okoronkwo and Rasheedat Ajibade.
Also in running for the award are Zambia's Barbra Banda and Racheal Kundananji and Senegal's Mama Diop.
The date for the award and final shortlist is yet to be announced by the Confederation of African Football.
Boakye will however join her Black Queens teammates next week as preparations begin for the WAFCON qualifiers against Egypt.
