The Aliu Mahama Stadium will be the stage for a heated derby as Tamale City FC face sworn rivals Real Tamale United (RTU) on Matchday Two of the 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League Zone One.
Both sides, former Premier League outfits, are chasing a swift return to the top flight after near misses last season.
RTU, who lost out to Techiman Eleven Wonders in the playoffs, endured a disappointing start to the new campaign, failing to secure even a point at home against Sankara Nationals. Tamale City, by contrast, made a flying start with a hard-fought win over Bolga All Stars and will look to build on that momentum in front of their fans.
Derbies between the two Tamale giants are known for intensity, drama, and passionate support, and Sunday’s clash promises to be no different.
Elsewhere in Zone One B, William Amoako’s 70th-minute strike gave Legon Cities a debut win over Wamanafo Mighty Royals. The Royals, relegated last season, will visit Berekum Arsenal in search of redemption.
Northern City, fresh from a 4-0 thrashing of TF Exponential FC, meet Yapei United, while Mighty Royals host Techiman Liberty Youth. Debibi United will also play Victory Club Warriors.
