Lommel SK sporting director Jeffrey van As has applauded the resilience and determination of Ghanaian defender Henry Oware following the 21-year-old’s contract extension with the Belgian club.
The new deal ties him to Lommel until the summer of 2028, with an option for an additional year, underscoring the club’s confidence in his continued progress.
Van As, who has closely monitored Oware’s rise since his arrival, described him as a player who has earned his place through sheer persistence and quality.
“Henry is a talented central defender who has fought his way into the starting lineup this season,” van As said.
“Despite his young age, he has already gained a lot of experience at our club. We want to continue developing him in the coming years and look forward with great confidence and positivity to the future together with him at Lommel SK.”
Oware joined Lommel in January 2024 from French Ligue 2 side ESTAC Troyes, having previously played for Ghanaian academy club WAFA SC.
His move came at a pivotal stage in his development, and he has since grown into one of the team’s most dependable defenders.
