Los Angeles Galaxy coach Greg Vanney was full of praise for Ghana forward Joseph Paintsil after his hat-trick performance against Sporting Kansas City in the Major League Soccer on Saturday.
The Black Stars forward scored a first half hat-trick as the MLS champions thumped Sporting Kansas at the Dignity Health Park in Los Angeles.
Vanney, who was serving a suspension, lauded the Ghanaian, disclosing how his pace and skills help him make the most of the chances on Saturday night.
"I think the spaces that were available for him to run through and attack, some of them in transitions, a couple of his opportunities came off good and organized movements where we were able to find him coming in from an angle in front of the goal. The game was open like that and there is space, it's just going to play into Joe's hands because of his pace and ability to get in behind and see the channels very wide open," he said.
"I think that's a big part of it. I felt like when we did break lines and get into the forward movement of our attacks, then things started to go pretty fast. Didn't feel like we got bogged down in the top end of our attacks. Felt like we were a little slow at the start of the attacks sometimes, but once we got through the lines I felt like we were going to try to go to goal. We weren't slowing the game down too much.
"A little more execution in some of those actions and there was a handful of probably more chances and goals for us if we would have been a little cleaner in a few of those."
Paintsil has now netted nine goals and delivered two assists in 23 matches for LA Galaxy this season.
