
Three Asante Kotoko players have been named in the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League Team of the Week for Matchday 1.
The Porcupine Warriors kicked off their campaign in the new league season with a hard-fought 1-0 victory against Berekum Chelsea on Saturday.
In a game played at Golden City Park, a solitary strike from attacker Albert Amoah earned all three points for Asante Kotoko at the end of the 90 minutes.
For the efforts of Amoah in that game, he has been named in the Ghana Premier League Team of the Week.
Other Kotoko players Emmanuel Antwi and Samba O’Neil also made it into the Team of the Week.
In the Team put together by former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, two players each from Hohoe United and Hearts of Oak earned spots after impressing in their stalemate.
Gold Stars striker Samuel Attah Kumi finished the weekend as the top marksman, after netting a brace to lead the team to secure a 2-1 win against Bechem United.
Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Abdul Karim Zito has also been named Coach of the Week.
