Villarreal manager Marcelino GarcÃa Toral has praised Thomas Partey’s quality and experience ahead of their UEFA Champions League clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday night.
The Ghanaian midfielder, who joined Villarreal as a free agent in the summer, is set to feature in the high-profile group-stage tie as the Yellow Submarine aim to make a strong statement in London.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Marcelino expressed confidence in Partey’s ability to deliver on the biggest stage.
“He is a great player with a lot of experience. He has played for a lot of top clubs. We know he has a great level. I think he will get back to a top level. I am very happy he is with us in the team,” the Spanish coach said.
Partey, who previously starred for Atletico Madrid and Arsenal, is expected to bring stability and leadership to Villarreal’s midfield as they look to secure a vital result away from home.
