CAF 2nd Vice-President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has stressed the need for football venues in Ghana to provide a safe and welcoming environment for fans.
Speaking at the opening of the CAF Safe Stadium Initiative workshop in Accra, the Ghana FA boss urged stakeholders to work together to guarantee safety and security on matchdays.
“People should have the confidence to travel to our match venues, to enjoy themselves and participate actively on game days. If we all play our part, our people will be happy, and when there is happiness, there is peace and tranquillity,” he emphasised.
The three-day workshop has assembled Safety and Security Officers from all 18 Premier League clubs, members of the GFA Security Committee and Regional Sports Police Officers.
Participants will be trained on CAF Safety and Security Regulations, accreditation, access control and crowd management to improve matchday safety nationwide.
The workshop will be led by CAF experts Xololi Nokithula Vilakati and Sylvanus Obi.
