Nations FC launched their 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign with a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over newly-promoted Swedru All Blacks at the Kwame Kyei Sports Complex in Abrankese on Sunday.
The visitors, making their long-awaited return to the top flight after 16 years in the wilderness, stunned the home crowd when captain Kweku Asuandzie Baffoe broke the deadlock in the 14th minute.
The midfielder latched onto a loose ball at the edge of the box and drilled home a powerful strike to give the Black and Whites a dream start on their return.
Nations, however, responded positively and found their equaliser just before after break.
New signing Samuel Tetteh, making his debut for the club, rose highest to connect with a teasing cross and head past the All Blacks goalkeeper to restore parity in the 57th minute.
With both sides pushing for a winner in a fiercely contested second half, it was Emmanuel Annor who turned the game on its head.
The winger produced a moment of brilliance in the 90th minute, cutting inside from the flank before curling a low effort into the far corner to seal all three points for Kassim Ocansey Mingle’s men.
The result provides Nations with a morale-boosting start to the campaign, while All Blacks, despite their spirited display, will need to regroup quickly as they adapt to the demands of top-flight football.
