Medeama SC made a strong start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign with a 2-0 victory over Young Apostles at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa.
The Tarkwa-based club looked sharp from the outset and took the lead in the 17th minute when Emmanuel Owusu finished off a fine move. Young Apostles, playing away from their Wenchi Sports Stadium due to ongoing renovations, tried to settle into the game but struggled to make their dominance in possession count.
After the break, Medeama tightened their grip on the contest, and Paul Yeboah doubled the lead in the 63rd minute, effectively sealing the win. Coach Ibrahim Tanko had promised a more polished side this season, and his players delivered with a composed performance that delighted their travelling supporters.
Young Apostles registered 14 attempts at goal, with five on target, but lacked the precision and power needed to trouble Medeama goalkeeper Felix Kyei. They will need to regroup quickly ahead of their next fixture, a tricky away tie against newly promoted Hohoe United.
Medeama, meanwhile, return to the TNA Stadium brimming with confidence as they prepare to host Vision FC next weekend.
