Reports linking former Dreams FC striker John Antwi with a switch to Asante Kotoko appear to be premature, as the club is yet to officially contact the player.
Antwi, who boasts a wealth of experience both in Ghana and abroad â particularly in Egypt where he featured for clubs like Al Ahly, Ismaily, and Pyramids FC â has recently been linked with a move to the former Ghana Premier League champions. However, sources close to the player reveal that no formal approach has been made by the Porcupine Warriors.
Kotoko, currently reshaping their squad ahead of the upcoming season, have been monitoring attacking options, but Antwi’s situation remains unresolved.
Until an official bid is tabled, speculation about the prolific forward joining the Kumasi-based giants remains unconfirmed.
The experience forward recently feautured for Dreams FC and was instrumental for the "Still Believe" lads during their historic CAF Confederation Cup campiagn which saw them reach the semifinals last two seasons as debutants.
Kotoko, after winning the FA Cup last season are looking to beef up their squad with experience players with Antwi initially believed to be a key target.
However, the Porcupines are yet to submit anything concrete as they prepare to repesent Ghana in Africa next season
