
The residence of Mr Mahmoud Issifu, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Binduri Constituency, has reportedly been set ablaze by unknown persons in the late hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025.
Although no casualties were recorded, the inferno destroyed several properties belonging to the legislator in the three-bedroom house.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, but security personnel have commenced investigations into the incident.
In a separate but related development, three people were allegedly shot and killed while one person sustained gunshot injuries following an attack by unidentified gunmen on the evening of same day at Sakpari in Binduri.
Two gunmen were said to have stormed the family house of Mr George Bukari, General Manager of Max Empire, a local media house in Binduri, and opened fire, killing a man believed to be in his 60s and two children on the spot.
Mr Bukari reportedly sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a health facility.
According to an eyewitness, Mr Bukari had brought out his child and that of her uncle’s to bath them at the yard when the assailants attacked them.
The eyewitness said Mr Bukari had left his saddles outside the house and went to pick them, leaving the two children and uncle inside the yard.
The attackers shot and killed the three instantly as well as a cow behind which Mr Bukari had taken cover from.
The motive behind both attacks was yet to be established, but police say investigations are underway to bring the perpetrators to book.
Mr Salam Atiiga, an Opinion Leader of Binduri told the Ghana News Agency that there was no information yet pointing that the two attacks were related.
He condemned the actions of the perpetrators and called for investigations to bring the attackers to face the law.
Mr Martin Ariku, the Binduri District Chief Executive, said the District Security Council had begun investigation to unravel the cause of the attacks.
