The Ghana Statistical Service has reaffirmed its commitment to deepening partnerships across the national statistical system to produce quality data.
The Service said working together could ensure that data collection was coordinated, standards maintained, and every dataset contributed meaningfully to national progress.
This was in a statement from the Service to mark this year’s World Statistics Day on the theme, “Quality Statistics and Data for Everyone”.
The theme, the GSS stated, touched directly on the Service’s core mission to produce trusted, relevant, and high-quality official statistics that guide national development and improve lives.
“Quality statistics are far more than numbers. They are the foundation of progress, the mirror of national realities, and the compass for policy direction.
“Statistics tell the story of our people, their living conditions, opportunities, and challenges, and ensure that decisions are based on evidence rather than assumption,” the statement said.
The Service recognised that the credibility of every policy depended on the integrity of the data; hence the reason every census, survey, and statistical release followed internationally recognised standards that ensure accuracy, consistency, and comparability.
“Our work is guided by rigorous methodology and transparency, strengthening public confidence in statistics across government, business, academia, and civil society.”
The statement said GSS would continue to modernise its systems through digital tools, data science techniques, and automation.
These innovations have enhanced efficiency, reduced delays, and expanded access to real-time, high-quality information.
The statement commended its partners and collaborators across the national statistical system whose contributions strengthen the production and use of official data in Ghana.
“As Ghana continues its journey towards evidence-based development, one message stands clear: quality statistics are for everyone, and they belong to everyone,” it said.
