The Global Academy Achievers, through its STEM-focused initiative; Academy Achievers, proudly announces the first-ever #BeMeDigitalInclusion sustainable tech event in Ghana.
This landmark occasion spotlighted Africa’s role in shaping a sustainable digital future, particularly empowering women and young people to embrace careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
The event was held at Association International School, Accra Ghana on 19th September.
Founded in 2006, Global Academy Achievers | STEM Academy Achievers Ghana (SAAG) has been a beacon of innovation in education, pioneering digital skills training across communities in the UK, Africa, and beyond.
Through its Global #BeMeDigitalInclusion initiative, the organisation is tackling the global digital divide, ensuring that underrepresented groups , particularly African women and girls, have the skills, confidence, and networks to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.
At the heart of this movement is Paulette Watson MBE, a multi-global award-winning STEM leader, author, and advocate for equity in technology. Honoured with the Freedom of the Borough for her outstanding service, she has consistently broken barriers, driving initiatives that place women and girls at the forefront of AI, cloud, and sustainable technologies. Her acclaimed book She Disrupts: A Black Woman’s Journey in STEM and AI Industries reflects both her personal journey and her vision for a more inclusive digital future.
The Ghana #BeMedigitalinclusion Sustainable Tech Event will bring together students, educators, industry leaders, and policymakers to explore sustainable technology solutions, career pathways in AI and emerging industries, and Africa’s central role in the geopolitical tech landscape. With global shifts in energy, cybersecurity, and digital realignment, this event positions Ghana as a hub for future-ready leadership.
“#BeMeDigitalInclusion is more than a program, it is a movement,” says Watson. “We are equipping the next generation not just with technical skills, but with the mindset that their value is the most important asset they bring to any organisation.”
The event promises to be a milestone in Ghana’s tech and education journey, cementing its place in the global conversation on sustainable and inclusive innovation.
