Twenty-year-old Ghana wonderkid Ibrahim Osman is set to join Black Stars teammate Gideon Mensah in France on a loan deal from English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.
Ligue 1 side Auxerre have agreed a deal to sign Osman on loan with buy option clause from Brighton.
Transfer expert and journalist Fabrizio Romano reports that the loan deal has been finalised with the option for a permanent move worth up to €16 million. The winger had previously rejected several attempts by the French club to sign him.
However, he seems to have had a change of mind and is set to travel with agent Mitch Bakkovens to undergo medicals soon.
Osman signed a pre-contract with Brighton in February 2024 and joined the Premier League outfit on a five-year deal in the summer for a £16 million fee.
However, he spent the 2024/25 season in the Eredivisie after signing for Feyenoord on loan from Brighton. After which, the Eredivisie club declined to make his loan deal permanent.
Osman came through the Right to Dream academy set up to Denmark's top division side Nordsjælland before making the move to England. He’s not featured in any competitive match with the Seagulls yet, and this new loan move is for him to get more playing time to improve.
