RMG Ghana Limited and De Heus Ghana Limited have donated agricultural inputs and animal feed to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA) to support this year’s National Farmers’ Day celebration.
RMG Ghana contributed agrochemicals valued at GH¢30,000 and a GH¢15,000 cheque. Items included foliar fertiliser, bio-stimulants, calcium nitrate and insecticides aimed at promoting healthy plant growth and higher yields.
Mr. Dela Nyarko, Head of Research and Development at RMG, noted that the support would help farmers access authentic inputs amid challenges with fake or substandard products. The company also distributes hybrid seeds, including its reliable Kaaba Pride Lake variety.
De Heus Ghana donated 100 bags of high-quality feed worth GH¢60,000 to support livestock, poultry and aquaculture farmers. Ms. Samirah Raji, Commercial Manager, emphasised that quality feed was crucial for reducing losses and ensuring sustained growth, adding that the company would offer technical and advisory services to farmers.
Receiving the donations, the Minister for Food and Agriculture, Mr. Eric Opoku, commended the companies for their commitment. He said the combined contributions—GH¢45,000 from RMG and GH¢60,000 from De Heus—would be distributed directly to farmers to enhance productivity ahead of the 41st Farmers’ Day celebration.
