The International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Gateway Sanctuary at pokuase in the Ga North Municipality of Greater Accra region over the weekend orgnised it annual Medical Outreach programme for members of the church and residents.
Attendees received free comprehensive medical services, including malaria testing, hypertension screening, diabetes testing, dental care, BMI assessments, and free consultations.
In addition to the diagnostics, the church provided free medications to patients, ensuring that those in need had access to treatment without financial burdens.
The Resident Pastor of ICGC Gateway Sanctuary, Rev. Andrew Darko-Ameyaw, in a short interview emphasised the church’s dedication to embodying the love of Christ through service and to impact lives in every dimension—spiritually, emotionally, and physically.
The church, he mentioned, would continue to make significant strides in promoting holistic wellbeing within the community.
He said the medical outreach was one of the ways the church was giving back to society as it went about preaching the gospel.
“This year’s outreach reaffirmed the church’s commitment to extending care beyond the spiritual realm to address the physical health needs of the people.
This medical outreach forms part of the church’s broader vision to foster a healthier and more resilient society through compassion-driven initiatives,” he stressed.
A dedicated team of healthcare professionals led by the Deputy Director General of the Ghana Health Service (GHS), Dr Anthony Adodo Ofosu, with some of his staff and supported by church volunteers who worked tirelessly to offer these essential services.
Beneficiaries of the programme expressed profound gratitude to the church for its generosity and unwavering commitment to improving lives.
Some of them indicated that the initiative not only addressed their immediate health concerns but also raised awareness about the importance of regular health checks.
