The Northern Regional First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Alhaji Ibrahim Iddrisu Sunday, has announced his intention to contest the position of chairman in the party’s election early next year.
He said he had been the party’s regional second vice chairman for two tenures and first vice chairman for three tenures, and it was time for him to occupy the regional chairman position.
Alhaji Sunday in an interview with The Ghanaian Times here in Tamale yesterday, said he had being with the grassroots of the party in the region for a decade.
“I’m a grassroots person myself, they know me very well and know what I am capable of doing for them,” he stressed.
Alhaji Sunday said “NPP supporters at the grassroots in the region are yearning for me to contest for the position of regional chairman to serve them to enable NPP win more seats in 2028.”
He said his experience, network and the love he had for the party and the youth of the party in the region were some of the reasons why they want him to contest the position.
Alhaji Sunday said “There is no single day you will pass by my house without seeing party youth, and this clearly shows my importance to the party in the region”.
He said he had demonstrated exceptional quality leadership, patience and created jobs.
Alhaji Sunday called on party supports to remain united and prayerful, and expressed hope that they had better years ahead.
