Kumasi Asante Kotoko Head Coach, Dr Prosper Narteh Ogum, has stated that the club has done very well dealing with the pressure of playing home games despite the change in venue.
Kotoko have been forced to play their home games at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium due to the closure of the Baba Yara Stadium for renovation after the stadium’s approval to host international games was removed by CAF.
Speaking in a post-game interview after Kotoko’s 1-0 win over FC Samartex 1996 for Kotoko’s third straight home win, Dr Ogum made it known that there was always pressure on Kotoko to win irrespective of the venue but praised his side for their performances in Obuasi.
“Everywhere we play there is pressure because the expectations of the supporters are always high so it’s not only Baba Yara; here too there is pressure but I think we have been able to manage it very well.”
Kotoko have moved to second place in the standings at the time of writing; Kotoko also have a game in hand.
Meanwhile, the Porcupine Warriors will honour their outstanding match against Legon Cities at the UG Sports Stadium tomorrow.
The match was postponed following Kotoko’s participation in an international friendly in the USA against DC United to commemorate the Ghana week celebration.
