GIS promotes 2 pullers for Africa Games exploits

The Ghana Immigra­tion Service (GIS) has promoted staff of the service that represented Gha­na in the last Africa Games in armwrestling.

This was in fulfilment of a promise made by the Comptroller-General of the Service, Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi, when the successful pullers called on him to present the medals to him.

The captain of the national armwrestling team, Assistant Inspector Edward Yamoah Asamoah, and ITO Coach Nii Otoo Larkyne who excelled were promoted to ranks of Inspectors of the GIS, a statement from the GIS explained.

The Comptroller-Gen­eral, Mr Kwame Asuah Takyi, congratulated the officers for their hard work and dedication, saying, “Your achievement is a testament to the service’s commitment to excellence. We are proud of you, and this promotion is a well-deserved recognition of your efforts.”

The armwrestling team won a total of 41 med­als, with the GIS officers playing a crucial role in the team’s success.

The officers expressed gratitude to the Comptrol­ler-General and the GIS leadership for the recogni­tion and promised to work harder in order to bring honour to the service.

“The gesture by the GIS leadership is a clear demonstration of the service’s commitment to rewarding excellence and motivating personnel to strive for greatness,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the GIS has also committed to grant employment to civilian officers who competed in armwrestling for Ghana at the African Games.
