The Black Bombers trio of Theophilus Kpakpo Allotey, Joseph Commey and Henry Malm have secured passage to the round of 32 stage of the ongoing ‘Boxing Road to Paris 2nd World Qualification Tournament’ at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Allotey kept his Olympic hopes alive by outclassing his Hungarian opponent Bernath Attila with a unanimous point decision to qualify to the round of 32 of the men’s flyweight contest.
Light welterweight, Commey gained a walk over his opponent, Bajoku Shpetim from Kosovo also on Saturday.
Light middleweight Henry Malm shrugged off a stiff opposition from Lybian Bilrrashid Mohammed to make it to the round of 32 stage.
It will be the turn of heavyweight Jonathan Tetteh today as he faces Dominguez Loren Berto from Azerbaijan in the evening session, while female middleweight boxer, Oneilla Sathoud comes up against Langerova Monika of the Czech Republic in the round of 32 clash today.
Meanwhile there was bad news for heavyweight Mark Kodjovi Ahondjo and featherweight Mohammed Amadu who lost their respective bouts on Friday and Saturday.
Ahondjo lost by a unanimous 5-0 decision to St. Pierre Kennedy Joseph from Mauritius while Amadu fell to a second round stoppage in the round of 64 about against Jose Luis de los Santos from the Dominican Republic
