HAG holds stakeholders meeting

 The Handball Association of Ghana (HAG) has held a stakeholders meeting to find ways to improve standards as far as the sport is concerned.

The meeting highlighted critical areas to focus and initiatives to move the sport forward with a strong emphasis on profession­alism, compliance, and national representation.

 Led by the HAG President, Nii Lante Bannerman, and other top officials of the association and stakeholders underscored the importance of cohesion among members in the organisation and promotion of handball.

According to Mr Bannerman, he commended members for the commitment shown in the face of the numerous challenges the HAG has faced.

He also hailed the dedication of referees, coaches and everyone involved in advancing handball in Ghana.

He emphasised on the need to adhere to regulations, including registering referees and coaches to enhance the credibility of the sport nationally and internationally.

Other areas considered at the meeting included the improvement and recognition of the Ghana handball league, development of a structured calendar in consultation with HAG and preparation of competitive teams for regional and international championships.

“This alignment would not only strengthen the league but also en­hances Ghana’s representation on the African handball stage.”

The meeting also addressed play­er registration and nationality issues, aiming to streamline processes in order to ensure that national teams comprise of eligible players.

Also in attendance at the meeting were the Greater Accra Handball Association (GAHA) Chairman, Rama Kudolo, and other HAG ex­ecutives, technical officials, coaches and players.
