Mr. Samuel Agyapong Baffour, the embattled headmaster of Terchire Senior High School has confirmed that the Friday, May 29, 2026 publication by The Chronicle exposing the rot in the school is true.
“The news report by The Chronicle is wholly true”, Headmaster Agyapong, also known as ‘Man of God’ testified before a Committee of Enquiry at the Regional Education Directorate at Bechem on Wednesday.
He also told the Committee that the Caretaker chief (Odikro), Nana Okoh Agyemang Boakye II, is the cause of transfers of three headmasters of the school in two years.
Man of God told the Committee that the chief, who was always interfering in the administration of the school, once engaged machomen to close his office, if he was not ready to cooperate and tow his directives.
While the appointment of officers in the school was the preserve of the headmaster, the chief contrary to GES regulations, wanted to appoint his team (persons for an inner circle) to run the school.
According to the headmaster, he had had a standoff with the traditional leader of the community, who made a lot of unfounded allegations and complaints against him at the Regional office.
He said the last straw that broke the camel’s back was when the chief claimed he could not guarantee his (headmaster) safety if he continued to head the school.
Nana Okoh Agyemang Boakye, at the time of filing this report, was yet to appear before the Committee.
(More on the role of the chief in the running of the school coming soon).
Mr. Agyapong claimed he is currently waiting for reposting by the Ghana Education Service (GES).
The Committee also heard that the PTA charged GHc800 and that GHc600 out of the amount is given to the management of the school, according to our source at the probe.
