Mr. Caesar Ofosu Acheampong, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Offinso North has officially broken the ground for the construction of the Mantukwa CHPS Compound.
The facility when completed is expected to improve access to quality healthcare services in the district.
Acheampong expressed gratitude to the paramount queen mother for Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, for his service to the people. He stated that the NDC government had brought several projects to Mantukwa, including electricity and schools, and was committed to improving healthcare.
The DCE announced plans to construct two hospitals annually to enhance healthcare delivery in the Offinso North District.
He assured Offinsomanhene Nana Dwamena Akenten II of government’s support and charged the contractor to employ local workers to address unemployment.
The District Health Director, Richard Avagu, highlighted the challenges residents face in accessing healthcare services, particularly pregnant women, and welcomed the CHPS Compound as a timely intervention.
The paramount chief for Offinso, Nana Dwamena Akenten II, expressed gratitude for the project and warned against the sale of community land, emphasizing it was released for development purposes.
