The Entrepreneurs and Innovators Network of Ghana has declared its support for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, citing his business acumen as the right quality needed to address Ghana’s economic and unemployment challenges.
In an interview with The Chronicle, Wednesday, September 17, 2025 the Chairman of the Network, Joseph Osei Oppong Brenya, explained that the decision followed a special executive meeting, although a final resolution will be made at the group’s last quarter meeting in Tamale on December 15, 2025.
That meeting, he added, will be followed by a press conference.
Mr. Brenya noted that Ghana’s persistent challenges, particularly job creation and effective financial management require a leader with practical business experience rather than purely academic or professional backgrounds.
“We the individuals who own our own businesses and also employ people can now see that we would be able to manage Ghana.
“We can run Ghana as our business because dealing with people is what Ghana is about and we are capable of doing it,” he stressed.
According to him, past leaders, whether Doctors or Economists, have failed to resolve the key issues of unemployment and economic stability. He argued that a successful entrepreneur who has built businesses and created jobs is best positioned to lead the country.
“Anyone can build schools, construct roads and provide infrastructure. But what we haven’t been able to do over the years is create jobs and manage finance,” he emphasised.
He further pointed out that many voters abstained in the last election because they were dissatisfied with the candidates, adding that Kennedy Agyapong remains a popular choice among grassroots supporters.
“Our view is that Ghana needs someone who can speak the language of business and deliver results, not just book knowledge,” Mr. Brenya concluded.
