The Ghana Police Service has successfully repatriated one of the country’s most wanted armed robbery suspects, Adinda Akpo Abdou Moudjibou, following his arrest and detention in Togo.
The suspect, believed to be behind a series of high-profile residential robberies across Accra, was officially handed over to Ghanaian authorities in Lomé on May 14, 2025.
The announcement was made today by the Director General of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Lydia Yaako Donkor during a press briefing in Accra today.
DCOP Donkor revealed that Abdou Moudjibou—who also goes by aliases Mohamed Djandjo and Biya-Kigui—was apprehended in Lomé on January 30, 2025, through coordinated efforts between INTERPOL Accra and INTERPOL Lomé.
He had been on the run since 2024 after his alleged accomplice, Alidu Marzouk, was arrested in Ghana.

Marzouk, known by several aliases including Rashid Bawa and Papa Rich, was taken into custody on September 4, 2024, and remains in detention assisting with ongoing investigations.
“Following his arrest, the suspect was held in custody by Togolese authorities while judicial and administrative processes were completed,” DCOP Donkor said. “After several high-level engagements between Ghana and Togo, the suspect was formally handed over to us on May 14, 2025.”
A five-member delegation led by DCOP Donkor traveled aboard a military aircraft from Accra to Lomé to receive the suspect. The handover was conducted in the presence of officials from the Ghana Embassy in Togo and the Togolese National Police, led by Commissaire Principal de Police ASSI Elo Ani.
Moudjibou, who allegedly operated with multiple Ghanaian and Togolese identification documents, was the subject of an INTERPOL Red Notice issued by the Adabraka District Court on September 5, 2024. His criminal activities reportedly spanned from 2022 to 2024, targeting affluent neighborhoods including East Legon, Cantonments, Ridge, Tesano, Airport Residential Area, and Adjiriganor.
The police say their pursuit of Moudjibou was intensified after a public update on October 3, 2023, assuring citizens that operations had been enhanced in affected areas. The successful operation to bring him back was carried out under the Agreement on Cooperation in Criminal Matters between Police Services of West African States, signed in Accra in 2003. The agreement allows for expedited police-to-police transfers of suspects between countries in the region.
On behalf of the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohonu, DCOP Donkor expressed appreciation to the Togolese authorities, INTERPOL, and Ghanaian embassy officials for their collaboration.
“This success once again highlights the importance of regional cooperation in tackling transnational crime and bringing offenders to justice,” she said, adding that investigations remain ongoing and that efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects still at large.
“To those still hiding, let this be a warning. We are coming for you, and you will be arrested to face the full force of the law,” she declared.
The Ghana Police Service has urged the public to remain vigilant and assured continued commitment to ensuring national safety and security.
