Reports reaching The Chronicle suggest that operatives of the National Security on Saturday, April 5, 2025 invaded the private residence of Yakubu Issahaku, the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Videos that have gone viral on social media purported to be emanating from the raid captured armed military men forcing their way into the house, located at Sapeiman, in Accra.
In these videos, armed men in military uniforms were seen at the main gate of Yakubu Issahaku’s house.
The armed men later entered the compound of the house, but the video did not indicate how they entered the house.
The Chronicle could also not establish whether a resident opened the gate for the soldiers to enter or not. All the doors had security locks.
Still pictures that have been sighted by The Chronicle, some of which we have reproduced at our front page today, indicated that some of the doors in the house had been destroyed.
Further, the CCTV was also dismantled in addition to scattered rooms.

According to the victim, Issahaku, who is a police officer on secondment to the office of the former Vice President, a friend informed him of the incident, indicating he was not present at the time of the raid.
He said that the friend informed him via WhatsApp in the evening that day, that 30 masked and armed military personnel had forcibly entered his home.

He claims the operatives ransacked the entire property, causing significant destruction.
Among the reported damages were broken security doors, disconnected CCTV systems and the removal of internet routers, switches and the home’s hard disc. All rooms in the house were allegedly searched without explanation or legal justification.

Issahaku identified the leader of the operation as Superintendent of Police Sulemana Sule, who he says is currently stationed at Jubilee House and operates from the Blue Gate.
Issahaku stated that he knows the officer personally and that the Superintendent is aware of their acquaintance, further deepening concerns over the motive and legality of the raid.
The incident has sparked serious concerns over the actions of state security operatives and the treatment of individuals associated with former government. INCIDENTSIt will be recalled that former Minister for Finance, Ken Ofori-Atta and the former Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Ernest Addison, have been victims of the recent raids by the Mahama government.
The Office of the Attorney General has, however, indicated that the ongoing exercise is meant to ensure accountability from appointees of the Akufo-Addo government.
