The Queen mother of Akrokerri, Nana Serwaa Bruwaa II, has committed a total of GH¢300,000 into stabilising electricity supply to the town and surrounding communities.

She has procured four transformers and a quality of cables to help improve the lighting system and thus address unstable and erratic power supply to the communities in the area.
The residents have, for some time, experienced unstable and low supply of electricity in the community, following population growth and expansion of the town coupled with the need to provide utilities.

The Queen mother was moved by complaints by residents regarding the damages caused to domestic installations and gadgets under the circumstance of inadequate supply from a single transformer in the community.
As the traditional head, the Queen mother felt obliged to contribute to the well-being of the constituents especially in the absence of a substantive chief hence her commitment to contribute to the welfare of her subjects and development of town by engaging a local contractor for the remedial works.

She believes the gesture would go a long way to prevent damages often caused to electrical appliances, gadgets and domestic fire outbreaks due to low current and erratic power.
She is elated by the fact that her contribution has now stabilised electricity supply resulting in a well-lit community at night and a secured community.
Nana Serwaa Bruwaa has called for the cooperation and support of residents for the implementation of several other projects and initiatives under a proposed development programme.
