Apostle Kofi Nkansah-Sarkodie has adviced the youth of the country who use all manner of filthy and foul language on social media to denigrate statesmen and well-meaning members of society to refrain from the practice, insisting that it is not part of our culture or upbringing.
He said those who live outside this country and boast of better standards of living should equally try to emulate the good ethics and practices of those countries, which are worthy of repute.
Addressing a press conference in Kumasi recently, Saint Sark, as he is popularly called, referred to a post on social media insulting Muslims, the NDC government and Ghanaians in general. The post was made after President John Dramani Mahama’s decision to build a new Hajj Village for Muslims.
Saint Sark stressed that such behaviours are “not Ghanaian” because they are not part of our upbringing and culture.
Saint Sark, who is the Head Pastor of the Open Arms Ministry/Jesus Chapel said it is not when you talk rudely or insult others, especially older people or those in authority, which makes you more of a Ghanaian or a hero.
He explained that the divine commandment of “honour your father and mother” does not refer to our biological parents only, but any other person who is an adult.
He referred to the incident as uncalled for, unfortunate and regrettable and appealed to everybody offended by it, especially the Islamic community and the Chief Imam, to forgive and let go.
He also sounded a word of caution to the perpetrators to desist from such conduct in their own interest.
He also touched on the banking sector clean-up and the collapsed banks and said the Bank of Ghana and President Mahama should quickly take measures to restore licenses to the affected banks to start operation, because the disadvantages associated with the banking sector reforms far outweighed the advantages.
Saint Sark described the 2025 Budget Statement as “one of the best” in the history of the Fourth Republic and explained that the general mood or the way people reacted to the budget statement was an indication of its acceptance.
He also admonished the NPP and the people criticising the 2025 Budget to be truthful to themselves and their followers because the days of ‘primitive’ politics were long gone.
On the issue of some shipping containers which were discovered at a hidden location in Accra by National Security operatives stashed with large amounts of money in both local and foreign currencies, Saint Sark said those in authourity should immediately come clear and explain to Ghanaians the exact amount of money discovered in those containers in order to clear any doubts in the minds of the public.
