Management of Adamus Resources Limited (ARL), an international mining company operating in the Ellembelle Municipality in the Western Region, has accused the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Constituency Chairman for Evalue-Gwira-Ajomoro, Emmanuel Ennor Kofi of invading its concession and doing illegal mining.

The company has specifically mentioned the NDC Chairman’s name as having encroached on its mining concession at Akango North, but all efforts to stop him has proved futile.
The mining giant has, as a result, petitioned the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah to intervene.
Adamus Resource Limited has also petitioned the Regional Police Commander over the alleged illegal activity of the NDC Constituency Chairman.
In the petition addressed to the Lands Minister and others, the company said it is currently facing challenges with illegal mining activities on its concession at the Nzema Gold Project.
The petition, signed by the General Manager of ARL, Kwadwo Opoku Ansah and dated February 10, 2025 indicated that – “A significant concern is the unauthorised operation of Emmanuel Ennor Kofi, who continues to engage in illegal mining on our concession at Akango North, despite multiple efforts to halt his activities”.
The company also noted in the petition that on February 10, 2025 it formally requested the Regional Commander of Ghana Police Service (GPS) to intervene and stop Mr Ennor Kofi’s unlawful activities.
As a responsible corporate entity committed to legal and sustainable mining, ARL said it remained deeply concerned about the detrimental impact of Mr Ennor Kofi’s illegal activities, including the effect on the Ankobra River.
“We, therefore, seek your esteemed office urgent intervention to ensure that the operations are halted to save the environment.
“ARL concession is secured and the culprit made to face the full rigors of the law. We appreciate your prompt attention to this mater,” the mining company said in its petition to the sector minister.
Philip Thompson, Health Safety and Environmental Managerof the company confirmed in a telephone interview with The Chronicle that his outfit had indeed petitioned the sector Minister.
Asked how the company came to the conclusion that the NDC Chairman for Evalue-Gwira-Ajomoro Constituency was the one behind the illegal mining on the company’s concession, Phillip Thompson said the company had, on many occasions, invited him to halt his operation, but he allegedly declined.
The NDC Chairman, he claimed, was indulged in illegal mining together with some Chinese, and has allegedly hired muscular men who are guarding the illegal operation with rifles.
Phillip Thompson further told The Chronicle that the NDC Chairman began the encroachment on the company’s concession on December 17, 2024 and had caused massive devastation.
Thompson again told The Chronicle that because of the political clout of the NDC chairman, his outfit had no option than to inform the Lands Minister and Police to intervene.
When this reporter contacted the NDC Constituency Chairman, he did not confirm or deny the accusation being levelled against him by the mining company.
He was rather concerned about the source that gave the story to the paper. When the reporter refused to mention his source, he insisted that the reporter must come to his house to discuss the issue on Tuesday, this week.
When this reporter later called to confirm the time for the interview, he never answered the calls. He did not also return the calls as at the time of filing this report.
His company, however, issued a statement yesterday reacting to the allegation, which the paper has published in our today’s publication.
