Governor Dauda Lawal has assured the World Bank that his administration is making significant strides in combating banditry in Zamfara State. During an official visit to the World Bank office in Abuja on Friday, the governor discussed key development initiatives in education, health, climate resilience, and agriculture.
A statement issued by the spokesperson for the Zamfara State Government, Sulaiman Bala Idris, highlighted that the visit aimed to strengthen collaboration between the state and the World Bank, fostering greater support for ongoing and future development projects.
In his address, Governor Lawal reaffirmed his government’s commitment to deepening cooperation with the World Bank.
“I would like to express my appreciation to the World Bank for its continuous support of our state. Our development agenda aligns with the Bank’s mission to alleviate poverty and drive sustainable growth,” he stated.
Recognizing the security challenges that previously hindered project implementation, the governor emphasized that his administration has taken proactive steps to restore stability.
Governor Lawal reassured the World Bank team of their safety during visits to monitor and supervise projects, citing the implementation of secure accommodations, transportation, and communication protocols.
