The European Union (EU) and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ghana have launched the Team Europe Youth Sounding Board (YSB), an initiative designed to empower young leaders and amplify their voices in shaping policies and programmes.
Targeting individuals aged 18 to 32 years, the YSB seeks to provide a platform for young change makers to influence decisions on issues affecting their lives and communities.
This programme aligns with the EU’s global commitment to youth empowerment and aims to drive inclusive development across Ghana. Speaking at the launch on Tuesday in Accra, Irchad Razaaly, EU Ambassador to Ghana, emphasized the importance of youth engagement.
“By actively involving the younger generation, we aim to tackle critical issues such as economic development, education reforms, and social equity.
“Participants will have the opportunity to share their perspectives, collaborate on innovative solutions, and influence policies shaping Ghana’s future,” he said.
The Youth Sounding Board offers participants a unique opportunity to guide EU and Netherlands-supported programmes and policies in Ghana.
Over a two-year period, selected members will work closely with the EU, the Netherlands Embassy, and development partners to advocate for inclusive development, propose innovative solutions, and engage with local and international stakeholders.

Applications are open from January 21, 2025, to February 20, 2025. Young Ghanaians passionate about driving positive change are encouraged to apply.
The selection process will prioritise inclusivity, ensuring the board reflects diverse perspectives across gender, regions, and backgrounds.

“This is a unique opportunity for young leaders to inspire change and contribute to sustainable development in Ghana,” said an official statement from the EU Delegation in Ghana.
