Chaos erupted at Achimota around the market, near the post office.
The Chronicle was informed by some aggrieved persons that the NPP PC, Nana Ama Dokua Asiamah had entered a building with materials suspected to be thumb-printed ballot papers.
The NDC supporters massed up in front of the building. Some broke the glass door and made their way up to where the NPP PC and her team were.
Later the police, fire service and immigration officials who were earlier overwhelmed by the mob had reinforcements and was able to calm the situation.
Meanwhile, the allegations that caused the chaos were said to be untrue.
According to the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Peter Boamah Otukonor who came to the scene said a search had been conducted and no ballot papers or election materials were found in the entire building as alleged.
Aftter his confirmation, the mob dispersed.
The NPP PC, who was in the building then descended, addressed the media and left the building which she said was their constituency collation office.
According to her, the angry NDC supporters who entered the office pointed gun at them, smashed some of their laptops, printer and took other laptops away.
